New Years Resolutions

I've decided one New Years Resolution I've made this year is to update this a little more. Hopefully, I can keep it up!

On the weight loss side of things I hit my goal weight with Weight Watchers before Christmas. A total of 3 stone 2lb loss. I put on 5.5lb over the holidays! Back now to 3 stone off, 9st 9lb. I'm happy with that! The wonderful thing is that I am now free with Weight Watchers!

Beth is now 2 years and 4 months. She had a wonderful Christmas and the living room is chock a block with toys. Her favourite phrases at the moment are "I don't believe it!" and "Phew! That was close". I'm not sure where she got either phrase but they are so cute. Here is a picture of her in her nurses outfit she got off Gaggy for Christmas. She calls it her doctors outfit.

The big news with me is that I quit my job 2 months ago to follow my dream and become a writer. I am now on the last chapter of my novel Bleeker Avenue. I really disappear into it and when I come out it is hard to re-focus on my normal life. The cleaning and laundry were left for too long! Beth had been spending lots of time with her Dad and Gaggy but not much with me so at the weekend we spent a lot of time together just doing fun stuff like walking around shops and going to the library and museum. She loves the bubble car and the Vikings in the Museum. She calls them the "Bikings". Here is a photo of her in the Vikings exhibit. The museum here is very good and the staff are really friendly. 

I have to say I'm really proud of myself for the weight loss. This is the skinniest I've been since I started college 12 years ago. I feel better in myself too. I've more energy and I am generally happier. Here is a photo of Beth and me just before I headed off to a wedding on the 21st December. Fake tan again. It was one of those gradual tans that I had done in a beauty place. By day 3 I looked like an Oompa Loompa!

30 today

Today I turned 30. I'm no longer in my 20's. It's a weird feeling. This is me cutting the cake at the party on Saturday night. It was a brilliant party with everyone I wanted there.

Beth was there for a while but wasn't feeling well. She's still not well today. This is a picture of her at a mother and baby summer party last week. She'd lots of fun in the playhouse.

We bought her a big bed as she was climbing out of her cot. Here is a picture of her first night in the bed. It took her 2 weeks to get used to it!

Yesterday Beth spent the morning in her grandparent's house and was picking raspberries (she picks the flowers in my garden)

We'd a few days of really good weather for summer. It's back to overcast skies and rain now. Beth and I made the most of the good weather while it was here!

Weight loss

Been a while again!


My little girl is now 1 year and 7 months old. Beth is so brilliant. This morning when I went into her room she was laughing and gave me a big smile. I'm not usually a morning person but she turns me into one :-) She has lots of words now and I can ask her what she wants when she gets annoyed. It's usually walk, cheerios, drink or pets (wonder pets cartoon). She loves the bath and swimming pool and we try to go once a week. I get a lot more hugs now. She just gets a notion and says hug and starts running for me. She has her tantrum-y moments but mostly she is a good kid. Peas (please) and dac oo (thank you) are being used more often too. Still doing weight watchers and have lost 2st 4lb so far. I'm down 2 dress sizes since starting. I think it's beginning to show :-) This is me exactly a year ago and a lot less tanned :-) (fake btw)

Weight watchers

Ok so it's been a while since I posted.....

What's new with me? Well, I started weight watchers in October and to date I have lost 18.5lb!!! I feel great. Younger. More energy! I've started fitting into my old clothes which is a great boost to my self esteem! Hoping to be my ideal weight for my 30th birthday on the 1st August this year. That will be in total 3st 2lb lost! I'll be able to wear what I want. I can't wait!

My gorgeous little girl is now 1 year 4 months old and is so much fun! She started creche back in August and loves it. There seems to be a new word everyday now with her. She really enjoyed Christmas. (so did I :-))

Beth started walking 2 weeks ago. One day before she hit 10 months. She's now running :-)

Father's Day Gift

Tomorrow is Father's Day and I thought it would be nice for Beth to do something different for her Daddy. So I got a canvas and some non-toxic paint and this is what happened....

9 Months Old Today

Thought it was time for another update. Beth is 9 months old today. She has been standing independently for just over a week but no attempts at walking yet. She can get everywhere she wants by crawling so I dont think she is bothered to walk yet. Thats my baby and me above. She is not a cuddler at all as you can see.

This is the dress I think she'll be wearing for the photo shoot we'll do soon. My friends bought a voucher for Beth's Christening 3 months ago! I dont know what to wear myself. Was hoping to lose some more weight before that though. I've lost 3.5kg since I started back on the wii after my trip to Dublin with Mum 2 weeks ago. Not too bad but a long way to go yet!

I don't know why but there's something so nice about watching her when she has her back to me. She's so vunerable and there's only me to protect her from the bad things in this world. She trusts me completely and that makes me feel incredibly priviliged and so happy there are not enough words to describe it

This is Beth showing her new "oh so attractive" habit of blowing spit bubbles.... Woody from Toy Story is her new best friend. She loves making him dance as it makes loads of noise on the laminate floor.

I'm glad it's the weekend so I get to spend 2 full days with her
