Where Did You Come From, Baby Dear?

Where Did You Come From, Baby Dear?

~George MacDonald

Where did you come from, baby dear?
Out of the everywhere into here.

Where did you get your eyes so blue?
Out of the sky as I came through.

What makes the light in them sparkle and spin?
Some of the starry spikes left in.

Where did you get that little tear?
I found it waiting when I got here.

What makes your forehead so smooth and high?
A soft hand stroked it as I went by.

What makes your cheek like a warm white rose?
I saw something better than anyone knows.

Whence that three-cornered smile of bliss?
Three angels gave me at once a kiss.

Where did you get this pearly ear?
God spoke, and it came out to hear.

Where did you get those arms and hands?
Love made itself into hooks and bands.

Feet, whence did you come, you darling things?
From the same box as the cherubs' wings.

How did they all just come to be you?
God thought about me, and so I grew.

But how did you come to us, you dear?
God thought about you, and so I am here.

How we got here

A scan of Beth in June last year. We found out we were having a little girl on 25 June 2009 at about 12.15. Later that evening legend Micheal Jackson passed away. Day of happiness tinged with sadness.
My belly at 4.5 months

My belly at 8 months and 3 weeks. One week from the elective section (Beth was transverse till the very last making a natural delivery impossible)
Beth 3 days old still in hospital ward (where I'd been for 3 weeks prior to the birth). This was a rare quiet moment. She objected strongly to being ejected from the comfort of my womb before she was ready
First time out for a walk

First proper outfit (not just babygros)

My current favourite picture. Lots of other photos (I take loads everyday, hence my need for a blog or they'll all go to waste) but these are a few of my faves

Wonder Woman

I've decided after reading other blogs for the last year to start one of my own. It'll probably be very boring but it will be nice to look back on. I'm sure I will forget little things that happen everyday and this will be a way of recording them.

I'm a 28 year old single Mum to a beautiful 7 month (and 4 days) old baby girl Beth. Two days ago Beth pulled herself up into a standing position. Time is passing so quickly. She wants to be doing stuff for herself all the time. I think she'll want her own apartment by the time she is one!
This is just a short post to start. I wonder will anyone read it :-)
